Heaven's Door

A new day dawns, the cricket's fade,
I wait to meet a brand new day
The sun is warm against my skin
I'm so happy to be home again…

I've been gone so long without the trees, with the moss and without the breeze
I feel I have been born again each day
I love to hear the frogs at night and to see the eagles soar
I never knew my home was so close to Heaven's Door.

I still remember our fishin' hole
My little tackle box and an old cane pole
The water flows across my feet
The river has a pace to keep.

Throughout the day the squirrels will play around their favorite tree
And at night the raccoons walk the water's edge
The mosquitoes from the citrus grove that chase me across the floor
Remind me just how close my home is to Heaven's Door,
They remind me just how close my home is to Heaven's Door.
